Neptune walked closer to Reed's parents, glaring at them. "He belongs with me, and I am his legal guardian. You will not take him. He will survive this and stay." Neptune didn't like the way the parents spoke of either of their children. Reed was a good man who sacrificed much of himself for his brother. And Ciaran needed the freedom that his brother offered. No child wanted to be coddled for the whole of their existence.
But Reed didn't like the way Neptune was handling this. Don't. Please stop. They're grieving. "Your grief is not an excuse for your behavior. Ciaran would not appreciate the way you speak of me. I have given of myself. My blood. My money. My time. And I make him happy. You have no right to speak down to me."
