Reed was hunched over, his hand never leaving Ciaran, at least not until their parents stormed in and Hunter started slinging words at his eldest in anger. Reed jumped to his feet and blinked a few times. He looked down at his feet. "Nothing.. nothing's more important, sir," he responded as though he was a child again, being chastised for his stupidity.
