"Goddamn," Bekah murmured, but she looked pleased. That was a lot of money, though Bekah knew she was being compensated for doing a job. One that could potentially be dangerous. It had to be worth it though, otherwise Bekah wouldn't have agreed to this. This had to be better than her normal life, whatever that was.
She watched Anye intently as the woman spoke. The mentor program. It sounded like a Big Brothers of America kind of thing, though Bekah knew she ought to be thankful someone was going to work with her through all of this. "It's been... oh, I don't know, not that long I guess. Feels like forever ago, even though I know it hasn't been. Don't be nervous. I'm pretty delightful." Bekah rested her hands on her hips. "I'm also really ready to get the hell out of this room."
