Nick...Honestly wasn't sure where his thoughts had gone, and so quickly too. Anye had gone from just inside the room after coming back from the bathroom and then she was almost right in front of him. It was disconcerting and alarming, but that was a dull feeling because of who it was causing it. Anye was safe. He trusted her more than anyone else when it came to his physical safety and that of his sister's.
If there was anyone he could slip up around, it was her.
Physically at least. Not emotionally. Emotionally he had to have his guard up, lest he fall apart like the pieces of a man loosely stitched together that he was.
"I'll make it Anye. Just tired." He gave her what he hoped was an encouraging smile with an answer that was hopefully timely considering he wasn't sure how long it had been since she asked it. His body was done, as if the smell of her in the room and the partial undress had kicked off a domino effect of shutting down he couldn't stop.
