Nick was definitely not going to argue with her on this one. It already felt like deja vu and he was too tired for that, not that he was ever not tired these days. But one time he was going to be worn thin and she was going to push him and his famous self-control would snap and he wasn't sure what he would say.
Though he didn't even try and hide the way his face twisted into a scowl when he pulled his boots off at the door, "Anye." Damnit, woman. Threadbare socks glided soundlessly along the floor as he made his way behind her, pausing in the familiar kitchen to grab a water bottle. Anye had a way of sabotaging his self-sabotage in a way that made him wish he could stay mad at her, "What if I fall asleep?"
