Nick snorted as they approached the much talked about fountain, an overpriced thing that was cited as a sign of gentrification and the stomping out of Brooklyn history in some of the bars he frequented. It was in front of what used to be a dinner for a long time, now it was some sort of posh cafe with a fountain filled with a myriad of lights.
"What happened to you causing trouble?" The quarter was rolled across his knuckles as he stopped to peer into the water. It was serene in a way that surprised him, so pristine, new and fancy. The sort of thing that was usually in environments that made him imminently uncomfortable. Nick closed his eyes briefly before flipping the quarter into the water, only wishing for stability and nothing more.
