The day had been the sort that Dorcas hated. Paperwork at a desk was nothing she enjoyed. Unfortunately she’d put it off so much lately that her boss had threatened to take away her credentials if she didn’t sit down and do it. And damn, was there tons of it. Every case she’d worked for the last 3 weeks needed some sort of statement or signature somewhere. After spending almost seven hours in the office scribing until her hand cramped, Dorcas had managed to make her excuses, bowing out an hour early. She promised herself she’d do paperwork after every case from then on out… 15 minuets of inconvenience was better than the days of build up…
Picking up Ryland from her mother’s, Dorcas simply couldn’t find it in herself to deny him his request for ice cream. Dinner could wait for later…
Holding her son’s hand, Dorcas walked through the Leaky, waving a few of the patron’s whose faces she recognized, before making it out back to the brick wall that guarded the entrance. A scraggily looking wizard was there already, tapping on them with his wand.
“Oh! Hello!” she said brightly, always one to make merry with those around her.
