Brunhilde was standing in the clearing across from a Mandroid, a dozen more shell-suits circled up around the two, all easily twice her height. Lunging forward, she struck at the forearm and head of the unit sharply with a quarterstaff of thick rebar, dodging the retaliating haymaker. "You are slower physically, not mentally," she lectured out loud, spinning around to strike in the knee. "Learn to counter and anticipate to overcome." During the last wave of enemy attack she had noticed these heavy armored and armed troops were only good with their firearms. Once their enemy was close enough, they didn't know how to use the machines to defend themselves in close-hand situations. She started rounding pilots up to teach them how to fight in the suits, resorting to softer steel rebar when Fury saw the damage she did to one suit with her spear.
The lecture was finished for the day, Brunhilde dismissed the pilots and watched the machines lumber away. They might be able to survive the next melee, she hoped. Still, there was other troubles, Heimdall had sent a warning to the gods on Midgard; the sons of Muspell, who was foretold to break the Bifrost in the end, were stirring in ways to concern the gatekeeper. He asked the Midgard-bound deities to go, seek out the mischief and remove the threat. The Valkyrie waited outside for the others, ready to visit the fiery lands.
