After Bruce introduced himself Adrian said "Pleased to meet you Doctor." Adrian had been a little nervous when Bruce walked in, after all Adrian was at one time a high ranking SHIELD agent and in the agency was a sanctioned assassin who made entire militia groups disappear. The man was a ghost and by normal standards almost didn't exist. No credit cards, no bank account, nothing that could follow him. He was a master at disappearing but those skills and precautions didn't save him from HYDRA. And he'd been told by many that only an idiot wasn't terrified of the Hulk although Adrian tried to see the good in others, ironic considering his staggering kill count as a SHIELD agent.
"I'm not sure. I just don't wanna die like this. What am I gonna do when I'm stuck behind enemy lines and can't get an injection? The time will come when that becomes a very real situation and that makes me a liability to the Avengers, or a casualty." Adrian had tried to build a more portable injector but he'd become so frustrated that he hadn't made much progress. The partially completed serum gun sat on a surgical tray next to the machine along with various sterilized surgical instruments. Scalpels, hemostats, gauze and stitching. All things used to deal with bullet wounds. The instruments were still in sterile packaging but were always kept near the machine since Adrian was most vulnerable to an attack when injecting.
His black suit of body armor was being decontaminated in a glass box so Adrian could perform repairs when he was done being kept alive. The dull black suit was created by him for a number of reasons, mostly so he could remind himself that he was a monster in his own opinion. He couldn't help laughing and said "I had a thought. Ever heard the song Don't Fear the Reaper? I think it's ironic considering that's my alias."
