Sally was having a hard time sleeping tonight, she had always been haunted by the memories of the assault on her mother, but tonight was different... it was the anniversary of that day. The day she gained her abilities and witnessed her mother die in her arms because she couldn't turn her ability off. She wished she could go back now and fix that, because she had finally mastered her powers, she could finally turn her shield off and on when she pleased, mind you it still could some concentration but she was learning and improving and that's all that mattered.
She was walking the dark, empty streets of the this city with no mind as to where she planned to go, just figured she walk until she felt tired. Sally enjoyed going out now, not only because she didn't have a brightly glowing aura around herself but because she could finally feel the wind on her skin, the feel of concrete touching the bottom of her feet whenever she took a step. Sally had almost forgotten what this all felt like.
The petite blonde inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, focusing her attention to the stars for a moment before she felt a tug on her clothes and a hand go over her mouth. She heard a 'shush' go into her ear as the unseen person pulled her into a dark alley. Sally looked around from the person's grab and saw two other shadowed figures. This wasn't going to end well for her, she was so busy being scared she couldn't focus to get her force field back up.
The enemy threw her to the ground and Sally looked up, they were just low-down crooks, maybe mutant but she didn't think it wise to ask, either way they were going to hurt her she knew that much.
"Aren't you a pretty one." Remarked the one that grabbed her. This place was just crawling with low-lives and Sally figured this was always going to happen, especially when you walk down streets at night, alone. She quickly got in a crouched position and swung her leg into that guy's feet, tripping him. She jumped up and looked to the other two, being an X-Men she had to learn to fight, even if she was mostly passive. She raised her fist and went to punch one and connected with their jaw sending them to the ground, the last one grabbed her from behind and held her tight, he was super strong. Sally wiggled but couldn't break free, the other two got back up and she tried kicking but they each grabbed a leg. "Let go of me!" She shouted, she was trying to focus to regain her shield but it was hard when she was being manhandled by three men bigger than her.
