Adrian saw Nick Fury and his second in command and his eyes widened. "Sir, in my defense I used the dummy schematics that I was supposed to use in the event I was captured. I was kept in a solitary cell and was unaware that there were other abducted agents until about five minutes before I was taken to the lab. Nothing excuses my conduct but had I known there were more people being experimented on, I'd have got them out or died trying. My reasons for my conduct are simple, sir. Keeping Doctor Faustus out of my head so that HYDRA didn't get any real data. My story has been shaky up until now and I understand that I may face execution as a traitor, but the team that extracted me scared the hell out of me. I was doing good to know my name let alone what else to think." Adrian was known to be bold and some would say crazy with the assignments he tended to succeed at. But having Thor holding that hammer inches away from Adrian's face and the scared agent almost pissing himself in fear had him pretty shaken up at the time.
"Sir, I'm no super soldier. Captain America is the real deal. He became the soldier his country needed him to be. I was intended to become a weapon against my country."
He thought for a second after coughing because of the cigar smoke in his face and asked "Am I going to be sentenced to death?"
