Jean leaned back against the car as she watched him eat, still smiling. "Asking Logan not to aggravate you is like asking the sun to rise in the west instead of the east," she pointed out. When he stepped over, she tilted her head back a bit so she could meet his eyes behind the glasses, and shook her head gently. "As much as I want to say yes, you know we can't. For one thing, we both know we couldn't leave the students to fend for themselves."
Lifting her hands, she placed them on either side of his face and leaned in to kiss him softly, then drew back. "And for another, the team needs us. Needs you, as its leader. But maybe after Christmas we can take a short break?"
Just as she was about to lean in for another kiss, a familiar telepathic voice cut into her thoughts and she flinched slightly, but broke away from Scott to start running towards the door. "Scott - get the students. I need to get to the Professor!" Mentally, she sent her mind towards Charles to try and help him hold on. "I'm coming."
