Only Luke's friends knew the real him, the compassionate and caring side he hid to protect those closest to him. Jessica had probably seen that side of him more than anybody.
Before he sat down next to her in the taxi he said "You're welcome." Once he was seated he leaned back and sighed a sigh of relief. He didn't do the yawn and stretch most guys did to put their arm around a lady. It was lame in his opinion but he mused to himself that it would be funny as hell if she did that to him.
