The Winter Soldier saw the look that Natasha gave him, but he really didn’t care. It didn’t bother him one bit. He had to do what he had to do. It was her fault, anyway. If she had just let him go minutes ago then her college wouldn’t have a bullet inside of his leg.
“Maybe they should have listened to you when you told them you had a handle on the situation.” It was true. If they had listened he wouldn’t have had to shoot anybody. But, in true SHIELD fashion they didn’t listen. And when the first ring of fire went off, he was ducking, and then firing back. “Good thing I never said that I was friendly.”
He glanced up at the line and then grabbed a hold of her. She was his only ticket out of the mess that was coming from him. Right now he needed to trust her. And there she went again talking as if they were friends and/or partners. He just gave her an odd look, but didn’t say anything. “Do you hate the silence?” That had to be the only reason why she kept on talking and talking, and talking.
