"We were outgunned, outmatched and outnumbered but they underestimated us. It was a day like no other. We did the impossible and if the Avengers ever need help you can count on me."
Victor was working at full tilt out of sheer force of will - if nothing else the man was tough or it was the medical nanites and painkillers he ejected just before the suit lost power. He was doing a pretty thorough job of scuttling the old suit and then went to work dismantling the huge 8 foot greatsword piecing together a pair of retractable sonic wristblades from the parts and fitting them into the arms.
"Aha! Give a tech genius a toaster and some duct tape and they'll save the effing world." He took a swig of whiskey, enjoyed the burn and got back to work. "As long as it provides full coverage I really don't care what it looks like. Aesthetics almost got me killed."
It was coming together - as Vic charged the Zeta Core for testing he saw a scary looking silhouette. The black and gold armor was made more menacing with the red eyes and core exhaust. "This is better than I could have hoped for."
