Terry gave him a small little sympathetic smile. She might not fully understand what that was like, but she could at least a little bit. Her homeland had been at war for so long, only in the last not even decade making it official to lay down their weapons and call a peace between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. And even so, there was a part of her that wouldn't ever forgive the northerns for being the reason why her mother was dead. Why she'd believed her father to be dead. So coming to work for this agency would sort of her going to work for an English agency. Terry might not fully understand what was going through John's mind, but she could at least have a small glimpse into it.
"That's a right optimistic point of view, you have there lad." she said after a moment, letting her thoughts and his words sink in a bit. "So long as we do our job, we might actually be able to make a difference." she squeezed his hand a bit trying to be a little reassuring here. Since, well, that was part of the job description. But it was more than that as well, she actually did want to reassure him on a little more of a level than just leader-to-team member.
"Confession?" she started raising an eyebrow after he'd admitted not having any idea of how to go about this. "I'm not quite so sure about things myself, but we'll get through it." she said with a little bit more of a confidant grin. When he spoke of his brother being on a different team her grin widened a bit. "There are a lot worse fates for siblings." she started. Not having any of her own she couldn't be totally certain of that but she'd try anyway. "I mean, as far as fates go, saving the world is pretty feckin' noble, yeah?"
