At the face John made after looking around the room, her eyes couldn't help but dart about quickly and she paused for a moment as he offered her up his hand. It'd been a very long time since someone had offered her a hand like that. And the last time...it didn't go so well for that other person. Mostly because well, sometimes men could be stupid, and Terry wasn't exactly quiet when they did something that she didn't approve of. However, she didn't get the feeling from John. There was still some nerves in her system, but they weren't the kind that really screamed "Danger! Run!" to her. So, with a slight pause Terry smiled and hopped off the desk and put her smaller hand into his much larger one.
"A bit of adventure sounds like the perfect way to spend a while." she said feeling a bit in her stomach when she saw him smile. My, oh my. she started to think to herself, The lad has a nice smile, that's for sure. she couldn't help but think. While she really did pride herself on being a rather independent woman, she was also very much a woman and had the same weakness as other members of her gender. And one of Terry's just so happened to be a very nice smile. Which...if she was being honest, and this time she was, had gotten into her in trouble several times. Though, right now, she was just alright with everything. She wasn't rushing into anything, nor was she really reading into anything at the moment either. She was just going with what was happening.
Like him, she was daring herself to be more open to people. Just try to let them in. The key for her was always make the other person think that they were already in, but the trouble always came with actually letting them in. To which, if she was going to be on a team, let alone one of it's leaders, she should probably work on that whole thing. It wasn't easy when you had so many skeletons in your closet, let alone problems you didn't want to ever admit to. "I don't think I've ever been in a place this big before..." she trailed off as they walked out of his room and down the hall way. She knew for a fact that even her home across the sea wasn't nearly as big as this place was.
