Terry's smile turned into a side grin as she nodded her head. "Aye," she said confirming that he was right and that she was in fact, not from around here. "straight here from the shores of the Emerald Isle." she said with a little bit of pride in her voice. In the past few weeks she wondered if she shouldn't have gone back there for a little while since she wasn't sure when the next time she'd be able to would be. But, right now, Cassidy Keep only held painful memories for her right now, so let it be. Perhaps when things settled down she'd see if her father wanted to go back with her, make some happier memories there together. "Been here for a few years though, and I must say, you Yanks are an interesting lot." she said with a little bit of playful teasing her voice. "Loads of fun though." she noted just in case.
Her face softened a little bit, almost surprised by the openness that she was getting right now. It wasn't often that she found that. Sure, people had been kind to her, that as much went without saying. But this was a little different, in a good way. Terry had a good feeling about this. Granted she was still a little guarded by it, but that was only because she didn't come by natural trust easily. However, she could at least see that letting trust form between herself and John right now was an option and she was willing to see where it went. "That's right sweet of you John." she replied after a moment with a meaningful look.
"I'll try not to take too much advantage of that offer." she promised him. She could understand that feeling of being alone and lost, something she'd been very familiar with in the past, and something she still dealt with. It was all a part of the cards she'd been dealt and if she dealt with them or ignored them as she tended to do, they were still there. "I'll offer up the same, but I can't honestly tell you where my room is from where we are now." she said with a bit of a laugh and a bit of a confused look. "We're a team now, yeah? We should do what we can to make it feel more like a family." That was a dangerous thought, she knew, but she was going to try anyway. Besides, what was the worst thing that could happen? Okay, she knew that answer too. But the best thing that could happen, she became close with these people, to John, and just by looking him over again, that was not something she would be complaining about looking at on a regular basis at all.
