For once in her life Theresa finally felt like things were finally working out the way that they were supposed to in her life. She could feel good about what she was doing, and not worry about if she was crossing any ethical lines. Granted, when she first started out with her uncle, she trusted him and he had her believing that what they were doing was justified and well within their rights. So it wasn't until later that Terry really started to question what was going on in her life, which ended up unlocking even more thoughts and feelings along the way. She'd trusted Tom, she didn't feel like she had any other choice. As far as she knew at the time, he was her only family, he'd raised her, so in a way she thought that he'd known what was best. On the other hand, he'd also instilled quite a bit of abandonment issues inside of her when he'd shipped her off to St. Elizabeth's as well. The whole matter had been complicated, messy, and the only way Terry could really deal with it was by not dealing with it and diving a little deeper into the bottle when things got a little quieter and she couldn't shut her mind off.
But now with her uncle's arrest long behind her, and finding out about her father, she felt like this was a new chapter in her life. Quite literally too, as this X-Force team had opened up all sorts of new doors for her. She was ready, willing, and more than happy to throw everything she had into this. It was partly to redeem for her sins of the past, partly to prove herself, and partly because it seemed like a lot more fun than returning home to Cassidy Keep and sitting there doing nothing but twiddling her thumbs. She was bound and determined to do a good job, so she'd spent the majority of the morning attempting to get everything organized, going through possible recruitment files, and making a nice big pile for Alex to go through later so she could get his thoughts on things later.
Needing a break, Terry started to head back towards the dormitory when she spotted John. She paused for a moment before she started to walk a little quicker so that she could catch up to him. She was trying to get a read on his body language to see what kind of a mood he was in, but just decided to go with it anyway. What was the worst thing that could happen after all? He'd tell her to bugger off and then she'd go about her business. And best case, she could chat with him for a while. "Afternoon." she greeted him with a friendly smile on her face, deciding that was the best way to go about things. If she was really going to be partly leading this team, she needed to build up some sort of relationship with the rest of the team after all.
"Everything going okay, so far?" she asked trying to remember to speak a little slower because of her thick Irish accent, and cut down on any slang that she might be a little more prone to be using, at least until people really understood what the hell she was saying at least.
