Jean felt shaky, deep in her bones, she was straddling a line and had to make sure not to cross it. With another blast her head snapped back, her mouth parted and a sigh escaped her lips. She smiled, just taking in the power. "I do not ask to be welcomed."
Physically she barely moved, a bit back at the blast, then forward her arms outstretched towards him. Her eyes were vacant as she put her energy into other workings.
Jean shook her head. "It's all right Alex. It's not your fault, it's ours, it's mine, you shouldn't be in this situation, just, keep focusing on me, okay?" She pushed at the walls, but he was stronger than she thought and her power alone wasn't going to be enough. "Things burn, everything burns. Everything." The walls weren't the problem, that thing there was, she could keep fighting through but in the end she'd just be weakening herself before having to stop him. Her head snapped to the side, staring at Apocalypse. Her voice had gone raspy, dark, she was building the flames in her mind. "This is your final warning to leave, and live. He is not yours."
