Cain chuckled a little "That'd be how long you were out cold and you slept through me hitting the floor I might add. To be honest I don't need sleep, food, water or even air to survive but people worry about me pushing myself too hard. It's good to know I've got people watching my back."
Forge definitely worked too hard, from what Cain understood Sage wasn't always at the mansion and the old man usually shouldered the job of maintaining the defenses and tech alone. "He knows if he doesn't push himself you'll push yourself. When he found out you were coming back he was excited like a parent waiting for their kid to get home from their first day of school. He's a mule but his hearts in the right place."
Seeing a small cardboard box on the floor Cain picked it up and handed it to Sage, apparently Forge got her an Ipad. "I'm tryin' but at least I'm a better man than I used to be. Thanks Sage." He heard footsteps and quickly stashed the remaining food having loaded the garbage into a bag. He played it off that he was taking out the garbage and stopped to talk to Sage so nobody suspected that she'd eaten fast food.
Getting up he put his helmet back on and turned to leave with the evidence bag. "They say that you're a human computer. Try not to lose the human part okay? That's the most important part of all of us. Take it from the guy who's forevermore a human juggernaut. Get some rest okay?" And with that Cain walked back upstairs to his room leaving Sage to think about what he said.
