Jean was attempting to stay in her room as much as possible. She loved, typically, being around the students. Even under normal circumstances, however, she needed to take time to herself, away from the others. Their minds and thoughts being overwhelming if she didn't take care of herself and take time to relax. Now, it was just too much. Coupled with the power surge there was the guilt. She felt it and had no idea how much of it was her own, or other people blaming her. Not that it mattered. She blamed herself. That was enough.
They had lost someone. Not because of a mission, because of her. If it weren't for her, for this damn thing, he'd never have been taken. Never have been killed. Not that she didn't blame the Hellfire club, but they were known to do whatever they wanted to get what they desired. That wasn't new. Killing people, taking over businesses, infiltrating governments, manipulation, cheating, using sex to gain power. Oh they thought they were high and mighty but there were no depths they wouldn't sink to.
What killed her was that she knew that. They all knew that. Maybe they'd gotten lax. Emma being around they forgot, thought that they were just people. They weren't. So she blamed herself. Which was why she was keeping to herself. The truth was, she wanted to be left alone. She didn't need anyone trying to make her feel better while secretly blaming her. She certainly didn't need an out and out accusation. The problem was she couldn't just snap at people and tell them to go away. When Logan knocked on the door she sighed and closed her eyes, sitting up in her chair and turning towards the door. "Come in."
