Daisy was pretty quiet as they made their way back to the Mandalay. She didn't know what to say after all of that. And of course she was downplaying her pain a bit, there was no reason to make Robbie feel worse than he undoubtedly already did. But none of this had been Robbie's fault. Daisy chose to go after him, knowing what she was getting herself into. It was as much her fault as it was the Rider's. But she had to get him back, and preferably before anyone saw. She didn't imagine people would react well to Carrot Top. It had been one hell of a fight, but Daisy figured she'd had worse. She'd been beaten so badly in the Framework. This was nothing. Hell of a way to spend her birthday, though. The Other Guy obviously didn't care about discretion as Daisy did. Because it was quite a scene as they made their way back. She could only hope that he hadn't been discovered, but she was aware that was a huge long shot. When they were safely back in Robbie's room and no other catastrophe had befallen them, only then did she feel like she could relax a little. She too the pills and the water, and then dabbed at her face with the wet cloth, trying to clean herself up a bit before she could speak to him. Why had she gotten involved? Well, that was a good question, wasn't it? "Because I was the only one here who could." She said quietly, wiping some dried blood from her face. "I was the only chance." The only chance they had at getting Robbie back before the Other Guy did too much damage. "I really hope no one here saw anything." She admitted, setting the rag down next to the glass of water. "We are gonna need to find something to do about that place though, someone's going to get killed." |
