WHO: Elijah Mikaelson & Hayley Marshall
WHAT: Elijah reunites with Hayley
WHEN: 6th June
WHERE: Floor #24 & Room #24127
RATING | STATUS: Medium | In Progress

Elijah had been awake for less than half a hour, but he was not pleased at the predicament that he now found himself in. Las Vegas had always been a vile and deplorable place, much more Kol's style than his own, but he was now apparently stuck here. The prospect did not thrill him. The only upside to the situation was that some of his own family were here, at least; Niklaus, Hayley and Hope. There were others too, namely Caroline Forbes from Mystic Falls, but he had not seen her in several years and it was irrelevant at this moment.

What was relevant to Elijah at this moment was finding Hayley. It had been a long time since he had seen her, several years at least, and his initial reunion with her had been stolen by who or whatever had brought him forcibly to this place. He was not going to let anything else interfere with this second chance to reunite with her, even if he had to rip peoples' hearts out of their chests.

He found the room that belonged to Hayley just down the hall from his own room, the number she'd given him displayed on the door. In another situation, he might have knocked and announced himself, but she knew he was coming and he wasn't willing to wait another moment. He pushed the door open with his hand, following its swift movement into the room and letting it close with equal force behind him.

His gaze found her in the room quickly; the growing sensation of anticipation in the air almost felt like he was holding his breath. "Hayley," he exhaled, the single word hanging in the space between them, allowing himself a moment to just look at her again.

The only thing Hayley had been concerned about when she had arrived here was Hope. No one took her away from her daughter. And what had just happened with Elijah was fresh in her mind. Bu Klaus had told her Hope was safe. That Hope was here with him. Hayley wasn't sure how that worked but it was a relief. And now Elijah was here too but he was from weeks ago. Nothing had happened to him yet.

Hayley didn't know much about how any of this was possible. She'd only arrived the night before. This was some kind of prison world that none of them could escape from. And they'd brought her daughter here. Her daughter. That pissed her off more than anything. People even seemed to be from different times, which was pretty out there even for them.

But Elijah was here now, after he'd just died and been placed in Freya's pendant. None of that had happened for him. But she still needed to see him with her own eyes. She turned as soon as she heard the door open and practically flew into his arms, embracing him.

"Elijah..." She whispered, almost afraid to let him go like he might just disappear.

The moment Elijah allowed himself passed much faster than he wished, but it did not matter. His own eyes met hers, seeing in a split second that she was safe, and he stepped forward even as she moved toward him. He held Hayley close, his arms wrapping around her tightly. Hearing her whisper his name, Elijah didn't utter a word but he knew how she felt. It was how he felt. Half a decade without her, stuck in Chambre de Chasse out of necessity, and now he had her back. The relief was almost overwhelming, even for him.

He pulled back just enough to see her face, his hands moving to rest against the side and back of her neck. He took a moment to look at her again, the relief evident on his face even while he knew that she was unharmed, before he leaned forward and kissed her.

Most days, Elijah was calm; it was easily said that he was the calmest of his siblings, but there was nothing calm about the way that he kissed Hayley. It was controlled, yes, because Elijah never did anything haphazardly, but there was no calm. He kissed her with every ounce of emotion and passion that he felt after being apart from her for half a decade, intending to make up for the time they had lost because of Marcellus.

It hadn't been quite so long for Hayley, but she was passionate too. She thought she might have lost Elijah forever when he was killed by the Hollow. They'd found him in the pendant, Freya and Hope had, which was a relief. But they were not out of the woods yet. However, for Elijah, this wasn't even a factor. That hadn't happened for him yet. But he was from before when he'd been asleep for five years. There was a lot to catch him up on. None of that mattered right now. Not yet. Not when they could just be like this.

When the kiss finally broke, Hayley was reluctant to let him go. She was afraid if she did, he might vanish before her eyes. Like this was some cruel dream or something. But he was here, and this was real. If nothing else could have convinced her, his kiss had. Sure they were stuck here, but at least they were together. And they'd work on getting back home.

She looked into his eyes, trying to think about where she should begin with what was going on. She didn't know much. They were trapped here. That she did know. Klaus and Hope were here, and Caroline and her girls. But she'd just arrived last night, so she didn't have a lot of answers for him.

The kiss had to end, as loathe as Elijah was to consider such an action, but he didn't move back from Hayley. He held onto her, even while she kept close to him, and allowed himself those few moments of silence to appreciate being reunited with her after so long. He could also sense her unease to let him go, aware that -- somehow -- their memories of home were different. Hayley had several weeks more of memories than he did, and he was uncertain whether that was a byproduct of this vulgar place or something more sinister.

For Elijah, Marcellus remained a very real threat to their entire family, even though Hayley and Freya had healed his and Kol's wounds. Half a decade was a long time for the occupants of New Orleans, and he was certain that much had changed in their absence.

He wouldn't let dark thoughts consume his time with Hayley, however. After all, this was meant to be a happy moment. He brought his hand up and tucked a stray piece of Hayley's hair behind her ear, a smile finding its way onto his lips. "I sense that, somehow, our reunion at home was slightly different than this," he commented. "I remember hearing fighting when I awoke. It was, in part, what made me come to find you before anything else." Elijah rested his forehead against hers, letting out a silent exhale. "What has happened since Freya woke us?"

"Slightly." Hayley said, with a nod of her head as she thought about how things had gone for them. She thought about how she felt when Elijah might have been lost forever. She'd spent five years trying to get them all back. And now...now she'd had them and she'd still potentially lost Elijah. But he was here and none of that had happened for him yet. Klaus and Hope were here, and they were...safer. Even zombies were safer than what was happening in New Orleans.

She took his hand, leading him to the bed so they could sit. She had a lot to tell him. There were things she wanted to leave out, but she didn't. She told him the whole story, ending it with Freya and Hope sensing him in the pendant. They would get him back. They had to. There was no other option, in Hayley's mind. She didn't wait five years just to lose him all over again.

When she was done explaining, she squeezed his hand. "We will get you back." She assured him. "That's what was happening just before I got here." But now she had him and there was no way in hell that she was going to give that up. She didn't know how long they'd be there, but she wasn't going to waste any time.
