He didn't argue with that. There were a lot of people outside, occupied with fighting the zombies. If they had been alright before he got there, he figured that they would be in the same position for a while longer. And he wanted to talk to Daisy, somewhere they could speak freely and wouldn't be overheard. Robbie nodded at her suggestion, turning in the direction of the elevator. He punched the up button when they reached it, waiting until the doors slid open to say, "Lead the way." He waited until she entered the elevator first, then joined her inside. The elevator ride was short and he noticed when it passed the floor he'd been on when he woke up, going up another two floors before stopping. He followed Daisy down the hallways until they reached a door, a number emblazoned on the wooden surface. "Do people get assigned rooms at random when they arrive?" Robbie asked, following her into the room once she opened the door and went in, and he shut the door behind them. A brief glance around showed him the room was pretty much identical to the one he'd woken up in, which he guessed was his room now until he could get back to Los Angeles. Daisy's room just looked like it had been lived in a while, unlike his own which he had abandoned soon after he'd realised Daisy was here. At least now they were alone, which meant they could talk freely. "How's Gabe? Is he alright?" |
