Ashe was still quite uncertain of this world she'd landed in, but she'd always been a resilient and resourceful young woman, and she knew she would land on her feet. The small, hand-held communications device was still something she would need to play with in order to figure out, which was why she hadn't yet used it, but the rest of it she was beginning to get the hang of. It was the one on the wall that she didn't yet understand. It wasn't a two-way device--one could only receive auditory and visual messages--so she wasn't sure what use it could be, but then, she hadn't spent much time in her room anyway. No, most of the previous 4 days had been spent outside exploring, looking for a way home, or with Balthier. She'd even spent a small amount of time writing. Since she had no way to communicate with anyone else back home, writing was the only thing she could think to do to help process the feeling of being trapped.
She'd been outside the hotel when she'd first encountered the infected. They were not unlike the Forbidden she'd encountered deep in Giruvegan, at the Great Crystal, but without a blade or the Mist to defend herself, she'd been forced to flee back. Fortunately, she hadn't been far away (she'd yet to venture far enough to get herself lost) and had been able to prove herself uninfected. Unfortunately, without any weapons to fight the creatures, she found herself at a loss for how to help.
That was why she found herself on the first floor instead of any of the upper ones where it was safer. She wanted to find out if there were any weapons, and if not, if there was anything she could do to help fortify, protect, and defend. That was basically her purpose at home, and it was what she felt she needed to do here, until she could return to Delmasca.
When she came across a young woman with what looked like a bin full of sheets, her interest was piqued. "Is there perhaps something I might assist you with?"
