Lacking the facts Cassian was able to get from Finn, Jyn's able to preoccupy herself with a future that is not possible. It's odd to think of herself as dead and even odder to imagine what might have happened had they made it off Scarif. Where would they have gone? What would have happened between herself and Cassian?
"Definitely an old man." She replies, still smiling. It's weird to think about, knowing that in their reality their both dead.
"I can't imagine myself assimilating to civilian life." Jyn says after a few moments, because the moment she'd seen the holo of her father she knew she'd die for the rebellion. He did, so she would too. "But I don't think many that do what we have can. Still happens."
It's a few moments before she speaks again, this time to derail the conversation of improbable futures. "So what is this place like? Can you show me the edge?" Jyn's on her feet before Cassian can answer, making for the door. She asks a million different questions about their current reality, mostly to distract from the previous conversation but also because she's curious. If she has to be stuck here, she wants to know as much as she can.
