Oh, she most certainly was angry with him. His lips turned upward in a smirk, allowing his own arm to drop to his side when she silently joined him but refused to take his outstretched hand. Leading her down the hall and toward the elevator, he pressed the button. It was only when the elevator doors closed that he began to speak.
"We're in a hotel called Mandalay Bay," he explained, leaning casually against the mirrored wall. "No one here has heard of Dalmasca, The Archadian Empire, or even Ivalice. I, myself, have been here for a short time. I'd almost given up on expecting anyone else to be here, when lo and behold, you came knocking on my door."
His voice still held a disinterested tone, but that was only because he'd already accepted his predicament. He didn't have the Strahl and it seemed as though they couldn't leave the city. At least he was able to leave the hotel. He figured he would break that news to her slowly, though. No use getting her too worked up before she had a chance to process the information.
