Jyn returned her attention to the water and the giant tiger currently playing in it. Hal was nestled in her pocket, a little more squished now that she'd pulled her legs up. She felt him wriggling around once he realized she wasn't going to be moving, his head popping out and giving her a look. She smiled at him and let him crawl up to her shoulder.
"Hadn't noticed," she said nonchalantly, looking up at Thor with another amused look. "Looks all right, I suppose."
She figured his day must have been filled with people asking him the same question, making him relieve that same trauma over again. Or reacting oddly at his new look. Either way, Jyn didn't want to count herself among them. Whatever had happened to him was difficult, that must was clear and she didn't want to make it worse. Besides, Jyn didn't need to know and whether she wanted to wasn't important.
Hal perked up at his name, crawled behind Jyn's head and peered up at Thor his little nose twitching as he took in the man. "I am fine, but you've lost an eye. I'm sorry. That must be hard to deal with." he said bluntly, before Jyn could answer. She scowled at his reply, trying her best to give him a disapproving look. She picked the small rat up and placed him on the ground beside her, exchanging a few looks with him that ended with Hal wandering off sniffing the sand.
"He's like that sometimes," she said after a moment. "But he's fine. If you couldn't tell."
