There was little chance that Oliver would trip. He was confident of his footing and even if he tripped he would recover from it. He was nothing if not agile on his feet.
Oliver grinned when Laurel accepted his challenge and he turned, running along side her. He held back a bit, knowing that Laurel was still regaining her strength and not at her full strength but he kept pace with her pulling ahead and then falling behind at times.
When they neared the restaurant, he pulled ahead slightly to make it look like he was going to win the race but at the last few strides he slowed, letting Laurel have the win without looking like he purposely botched it the race.
Stopping in front of the restaurant, he hunched over, hands on his knees as he took a few deep breaths. "I guess breakfast is on me." He grinned.
