Ballroom - 8:00 - Kara and Matt
The skirt was a bit short but then, she supposed, that was probably the point. She considered the fact that she was here at all, at a party, in a costume, with a friend, to be a minor victory of sorts. This was something normal people did, but it was more than that. Matt knew, and he still treated her like a person. Still wanted to spend time with him. For that she was going to be eternally grateful. Or, at the very least, grateful until the day her battery finally shut down for good.
But she didn't want to think about that just now.
The costumes were silly but fun. She'd picked them out largely because they went with her short hair. While she wasn't averse to wigs, she felt they might impede the fun. Her dress and Matt's suit had been labeled as "Gatsby" and "Daisy" but she didn't think they really had much in common with what she knew of actual 1920's clothing. But still.
As they walked into the room, she gave a little twirl, setting the flared edge of her sack dress spinning and the long rope of pearls around her neck swinging, giving Matt a smile.
"I may have to dress like this more often. It's certainly more fun than jeans."
