Robbie knew they should've gotten out sooner. The moment he saw all those chicos marching up the strip - read what other people had said - he knew they should have hauled ass and gotten the hell out. But that wasn't an option now, that fact plain to him as he drove his fist into the face of a gang member and felt the cheekbone give way under the force of his blow. That didn't stop him from driving his other fist into the chico's gut, sending him flying backwards. Not that it helped them. Two more took his place. He could feel Daisy at his side, the vibrations from her powers a reassurance despite the serious mess they were in. If neither of them had powers, it still wouldn't be easy for the gang members to take them down. She was a trained SHIELD agent and he'd had to learn to survive amongst all the violent gangs in LA. But Daisy did have her powers - and he had the other guy. They were severely outnumbered, however, even with everything they had - and when Robbie no longer felt her presence next to him, a wave of barely controlled panic crashed over him. In the midst of all the violence, his dark eyes darted back and forth in search of her. He knew she couldn't have gone too far, and she hadn't used her powers to get away. He would have felt that; it was hard to not feel the ground under your feet shaking like an earthquake. A strangled, sharply cut off gasp of pain reached his ears. Robbie knew, even before he caught sight of her - a large group of gang members between them, that it was Daisy. His eyes locked with hers, just for a moment. Then his eyes started to glow, the dark brown turning to fiery red and vibrant orange. The flesh on his face burned off, revealing the horrific countenance of the Ghost Rider. An empty skull, filled with unquenchable fire, marked with horrendous scars; its eyes were little more than holes inside the terrifying skull. An echoing roar erupted from his chest, the only sound the Ghost Rider could make, and he grabbed hold of a gang member by the neck. Flames burst from his hands, setting the man on fire in an instant, and he threw the burning body straight at the group between him and the woman. The ensuing surprise gave him enough time to reach a long-abandoned car on the side of the street, pressing his gloved hands against its flaking and rusted surface. The car burst into flames suddenly and he grabbed hold of it, hurling it at the same group with a lot of force. It knocked people away like bowling pins on a lane, a few of them being hit hard enough to leave a smouldering and bloody limb lying on the street. He didn't care about their well-being; all that Robbie cared about was the fact that they had hurt Daisy, and those emotions were so strong even now, but he wasn't in the driver's seat any longer. No, the other guy was in full control - the guy that could see the souls of all these men and woman, and knew that their sins were too much to save them from what would happen next... what he would bring down upon their heads, hearts and souls. Ghost Rider had arrived. And he wanted blood. |
