Priya had gone to bed with some regret that she hadn't sought out Klaus after the mixer, having been swept up in a group of women and ending up at another of the ship's bars for more drinks. It had been so nice to talk to people and hear their stories of how and why they had ended up on this cruise, but when she got back to her cabin and her head hit the cool white pillow she had to wonder what could have been.
But there would be other opportunities, she'd told herself. If she'd wanted to hook up with someone on the first night, she would have picked one of the red name tags.
The fitness center was understandably quiet when she got there a little after seven. Since the equipment wasn't being used, she started with some cardio on one of the stationary bikes. This was a vacation and, while she didn't want to work too hard, exercise was part of her daily routine. It would have been more unusual for her not to do anything at all.
There was a perfect space near one of the wide windows overlooking the ocean and that was where she set up her borrowed yoga mat. With no real flow in mind and just wanting to ease out any kinks from her travels yesterday, Priya spent some time just sitting with her own thoughts. As she did that, ideas started to form like a series of videos with workouts you could do on vacation. She'd brought gym clothes with her, like the vibrant orange sports bra she wore, but not everyone would. She couldn't even be mad at herself for thinking about work because she found herself thinking more about poses than she had for a long time.
Feeling that she was coming to a good place to stop, Priya twisted herself from a high plank into a side plank. It was then she noticed that she had an observer and she couldn't help but smile at the sight of the tall German. "Good morning."
She found the high plank position again and then pushed herself backwards into downward dog, her long legs accentuated by the close-fitting black yoga pants she wore. She took a moment to enjoy the stretch, then walked her hands back to her feet and slowly unfolded her body to draw herself up to her full height. When was the last time she had done yoga for herself and not for a camera or a class? It was invigorating.
Priya scooped up her water bottle from beside her mat. "I kinda hoped I'd run into you today."
