A corner of John's mouth pulled into a smirk. The other guy had a sense of humor, at least. Still, a colder part of Sheppard's brain wondered if this man was a plant, designed to put him at ease. It wouldn't be the first time something alien had tried to fuck with him. It'd been years now, but every time something seemed too good to be true, he remembered the planet with the sentient mist. Talk about a total mind fuck.
For now, though, he decided to play along. Maybe this was real. Stranger things had happened to him since coming to Pegasus. He ran a hand over the back of his neck, shaking his head.
"Sorry, I'm totally in the dark. I was actually hoping you'd know something." He closed the distance between them but kept his hands by his sides. "Lieutenant colonel John Sheppard," he said. "You don't know anything about this place?"
