Neal felt as though he were suddenly trapped in a Hitchcock film, complete with obscure environment and bizarre characters.
While Neal professionally read people, he was having difficulty with these three. The one who introduced himself as "The Doctor" looked like a hipster gone wrong, one was a single lower-middle class guy, and the last was undoubtedly a military man of some sort. One thing was definitely true, they were all pretty tall.
None of this was making sense, and the best safety precaution Neal could come up with was the same one he always took: lie.
"So you're in charge of this place," Neal asked, going straight for the Doctor with sincere-looking hurt in his eyes. "Why did you bring us here?"
