Fred looked over at Evelyn and smiled. She stepped forward and gave her friend a tight hug. "I'm so happy for the two of you," she said. She released Evelyn and moved over to hug Rupert. "We should celebrate this."
Suddenly there was a small crash and Fred turned around to see Regan had knocked over a few books. Sighing, she rubbed her forehead. "How about you sit down and read, Regan. I don't want you to break anything by running around," she said.
Regan nodded and went over to one of the tables. She put a book on the table and started to flip through it. Of course she wasn't paying attention and was busy listening to the adults talk about the wedding and the bookshop.
When the door opened again, she looked over to see a man walk in. He was wearing a courier's uniform and he walked over to the adults.
"I'm look for Fred and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce," he said.
"I'm Fred."
"I have a post for you. You'll need to sign for it."
Fred nodded and signed the man's clipboard and took the letter. The man walked out and Fred looked down at the envelope. "It's from the school," she said.
With a small squeak, Regan hurried over to them and started to bounce on the balls of her feet. "What does it say?" she excitedly asked.
Laughing, Fred tore the envelope open and pulled the letter out. She unfolded it and read it over. She then smiled at her daughter. "You got in," she said.
"Really?" Regan asked with wide eyes.
Fred nodded and Regan hugged her. "I'm so proud of you, Regan," she said as tears came to her eyes.
