Rupert sighed softly as Regan persisted in her questioning. It wasn't societal mores that were keeping him from entering into any sort of union with Wesley and Fred because he knew that none of them cared about that. If they did, they never would have slept together in the first place. And when she started talking about wanting them to be a family together and about how scared she was for her parents, he felt his heart breaking.
"I don't like the firm either, sweetheart," he admitted to her. "But things are complicated, and that's why..."
He trailed off, looking into Regan's eyes. He rather liked what she wanted for them. For all of them to live together in England. He knew Fred would enjoy working in the lab at the Council even though it was nowhere near as large as the Wolfram and Hart one. And Wesley was the best research partner he'd ever had. It was a dream he hadn't dared hope for, but it was something he wanted.
"I'll talk to them," he finally told her, squeezing her hand. "I can't promise anything, but I'll try. What you want? I want as much as you do."
