"Because what we find out might be important. Because they might just be planning something. Because..." Wesley looked down for a moment and shrugged. "Because we promised Angel. He's our friend, and Connor seriously needed help. Regan was the lucky one - she wasn't corrupted by Lilah, had good demons watching over her. Connor didn't have that."
Sighing, he embraced Rupert for several moments. He would have liked just to pull Fred upstairs and gone to bed for the rest of the day, but he knew that wasn't possible. Especially when Regan came to the door. Straightening his shirt when Rupert let him go, he turned to his daughter, raising an eyebrow when she told him about their dinner guest.
"I bet I know whose idea that was," Wesley said with a laugh. He looked over at Rupert with a smile, returning his kiss. "All right, love. Enjoy your shower."
While Rupert went into the bathroom, Wesley headed downstairs to look for his wife. When he found her, he slipped his arms around her from behind and kissed her neck before resting his chin on her shoulder.
"I understand we're having Lorne over for dinner tonight. I think our daughter is trying to play matchmaker."
