Wesley looked over the rest of the ingredients while Fred called down to the lab to find out about the Relaticq. Some of them, he'd never used before, but he was sure with Rupert's help, they'd be able to do this. When his wife said that they'd have the Relaticq by tomorrow, he nodded - at least they'd have plenty of time to figure out how the spell worked. Rupert was right about the demons of that dimension being tricksters. And while some of them meant no harm, some of them were downright nasty.
"I can already see that the pronunciation is going to be a little tricky," Wesley said, pointing to the spell. "Those words are similar to a couple of other demon languages in spelling, but the accents indicate a much different intonation. It would be too easy to slip into the patterns of the other languages if we're not careful."
Rupert nodded in agreement. "And it looks like the ingredients have to be added in the order listed too."
Wesley looked up, his eyebrows rising when he saw that they were alone. "When did Fred and Martin leave?"
"Erm...a think a few minutes ago?" Rupert said. "I'm not completely sure."
"They probably went down to the lab. Let's finish this, and then we can go find them before heading out for lunch," Wesley said. He furrowed his brow, thinking that sounded familiar to him for some reason.
They spent the next hour going over the spell, getting everything down so they knew what they had to do the next day. When they finally realized there wasn't much more they could do then, they went down and got the ingredients to lock away in Wesley's office before heading for the lab. As they walked to the stairs, Spike out of Angel's office in a huff with Harmony trailing behind him like a lovesick puppy.
"Get the bleeding hell away from me, Harm!" he told her. When he saw Rupert and Wesley, he made a beeline for them. "Anything?"
"Sorry, Spike. Nothing yet," Wesley said.
"Damn it! And I can't even drink."
As Spike disappeared down one of the hallways, Wesley looked at Rupert with smirk and tilted his head toward the stairs. Once they were up on the next floor, the other man looked down over the railing.
"Didn't want give him false hope?" he asked.
"Thought it might be more fun if they didn't know."
When they reached the lab, Wesley pushed open the door. "Fred? Martin? We're done for now if you two are ready to go once we save Lorne from Regan."
