Wesley looked over at Regan with a chuckle. "I don't like Lilah either, sweetheart." Especially since she had taken their daughter from them. He would never forgive her for doing that to Fred and him, not after all the nights he spent holding his wife as they grieved for Regan's loss, thinking they'd never see her again.
But it was good that Rupert was coming. Besides Fred, Wesley trusted him the most. In Sunnydale, he had learned just how much the other man knew as compared to the men like his father who had run the Council and pretended to know everything about training and watching over a Slayer. When he had realized that, their friendship had taken a turn, and Rupert had come to accept his help against the Mayor.
"He's going to call before he leaves," Wesley said as Fred got up to answer the door. He raised his eyebrow when she told him not to fast forward the movie and, with a smirk, reached over to pick up the remote control.
"Daddy! Mommy said not to!" Regan told him, reaching for the control to try to take it away from him.
"Would I do that?" he asked. He grinned and let her take the control before tickling her gently. She squeaked and climbed on top of him to pin him down so he couldn't do that anymore. However, when Fred came in with the pizza and soda, she immediately slid off onto the floor on her knees, taking the soda Fred poured for her. Once Fred had taken her slice, Wes took one for himself and sat down next to her.
"The pizza or the movie?" he asked. Regan stretched out of her stomach in front of them, eating her food and drinking her soda while watching the movie. She sang along with the songs even with her mouthful of food. Wesley chuckled but didn't say anything about it, glad that she seemed to be feeling better.
Just then the phone rang, causing Wesley to sigh. Reaching over, he picked up the cordless from its base. Wolfram and Hart. Furrowing his brow, he answered, "Hello?"
"Wes, we have to do something about Spike!" Angel groused down the line.
"Believe me, Peaches, if I could leave, I would! Every time I get to the city limits, I end up back here!" Wesley heard Spike yell in the background.
"We are going to do something. Rupert is going to fly in and help us figure out what's going on," Wesley told Angel.
"When?"
"Next couple of days. Goodbye, Angel."
"Wes, don't le--."
Ending the call, Wesley tossed the phone onto the couch behind them and snorted. "You know I think we've found someone that Angel hates more than the Senior Partners."
