Fred was running through all the possible ways she wanted to kill Knox as she held her daughter tight. How dare he say such things to a child? She hadn't fired him like she had wanted to before because he knew how the lab worked but now Fred was wishing she had. But he was gone now and he was never going to be around them again.
Looking at Wesley, Fred nodded, knowing the best thing for all of them was to get away from there for the rest of the day. Regan was still a little upset and Fred just didn't have the desire to do anything. "All right. I'll get our things packed up and we'll meet you downstairs," she said.
After Wesley had left, Fred looked over at Spike and frowned. "It's not that bad. Angel can't do anything to you," she told him while she packed her laptop and Regan's books. "We'll be back by morning."
It didn't take them long to get home and as they walked through the front door, Fred could see Regan was still upset. She pursed her lips, trying to think of something to make her daughter feel better. Then she thought of something. "Go get your pajamas on and we'll have a picnic in the living room and watch movies for the rest of the day like we did at the old apartment," she said.
Regan's face lit up and she jumped off the couch. "Daddy, too?" she asked.
Fred nodded and Regan grinned before running up the stairs. She turned to Wesley and softly kissed him. "Go make your phone call and I'll set everything up," she said before she grabbed her cell phone. She called for a pizza and then grabbed several blankets and laid them out on the living room floor. Once she was finished with that, she got her own pajamas on and put Beauty and the Beast in the DVD player.
"Are you sure daddy is going to come?" Regan asked as she plopped down next to her mom on the floor and snuggled close to her.
"If he comes in here with his nose in a book, we'll tackle him and take it away," Fred said with a nod.
