When Fred and Regan arrived, Wesley opened his arms to his daughter, embracing her for several moments before letting her go and taking her hand. He looked over at Fred when she spoke, raising his eyebrow at her comment.
"I thought we already knew that," he said before Regan told him what she had done to Knox. He had to stop himself from grinning and congratulating Regan for a job well done, but he didn't want to annoy his wife. However, the moment he saw Fred trying not to smile, the grin he had been fighting spread across his face. "That's my girl."
"I knew you don't like him being around Mommy. I don't like him being around Mommy either." Regan stuck out her tongue as they got out of the lift.
Wesley reached into his pocket for the keys to the SUV and hit the button as they walked over to it. "Well, as much fun as I'm sure it was to knock Knox in the head, I'm sure your mother would prefer to deal with him herself." He looked over at Fred as he helped Regan into the car and made sure she was buckled in. "Of course, if you'd like me to help, you know you only have to say. Right now, though...home sounds very good."
Getting into the car, he drove them home. He was still getting used to driving out to the suburb where they lived, but before long, they were pulling up at the house.
"Regan, go upstairs and wash up while your mum and I get dinner started."
"All right, Daddy."
Once Regan disappeared upstairs, Wesley turned to Fred and drew her into his arms to give her a kiss. "Well, as first days go, that was rather...interesting."
