Fred walked into the lab and looked around. She had always dreamed about having her own lab - a real one and not a small one like she'd done some of her experiments in while at UCLA. And it was all hers. She was the boss of everyone in the lab and it was a huge responsibility. Fred had to make sure none of them were doing something that would end up wiping Los Angeles off the map.
"This is the machine," Knox said.
Setting her box down, Fred looked the machine over. She rolled her eyes when she saw what was wrong with it. A simple problem a first year science student could've fixed. Knox was quickly getting on her last nerve. Quickly, she fixed the problem and went to her office.
Fred sat down at her desk and unpacked her box. Some of the things were small knick-knacks she had collected over the years, along with a new pen set Wesley and Regan had gotten her from a trip they'd taken to the mall a few days before. She also sat out a few pictures, all of them being of Wesley, Regan and her. As she looked at her family, Fred knew she had to believe they were doing the right thing. They were making the world safer for Regan.
The rest of the morning went by fairly quickly. Knox seemed to get the hint that Fred wanted her space. Right before lunch, he came in with some papers for her to sign. After reading them over (three times, no less), she signed them and gathered them up to take to Angel so he could sign them.
She was wandering around when she ran into Angel, who was doing the same. "Hey. How are you?" she asked.
"Would be better if I could find my way to Wes' office. How about you?" he asked with a confused look.
"I'm okay. Looking for Wesley's office, too. Oh, and you need to sign these," she said as she handed the papers over.
"You two looking for Wes?" Gunn asked, who was still playing with his basketball. Both Fred and Angel nodded. "This way."
Fred and Angel followed him and Fred was impressed by how big her husband's office was. She smiled at Wesley and then at Regan, who was sitting on the couch, flipping through a book that looked...blank. "Firm too cheap to buy you real books?" she asked with an amused look.
"They're magical books for daddy," Regan told her before going back to looking at the blank pages.
"So how are things going?" Fred asked Wesley as Angel went over to look out the window. Fred cringed a little but then remember the special glass the firm had installed so Angel could stand by the windows and be in the sunlight.
