Honestly, when had interns gotten so... inane? Miles could remember a time- and it hadn't been that long ago- when the interns sent to the Ministry from Hogwarts had been impressive, intelligent, and generally capable people. Now it seemed all he saw were, well, teenagers. Children, really- and ones who couldn't be left unsupervised or even think for themselves without someone holding their hand.
It was enough to drive him mad.
Granted, he was biased- but then again, was there part of his life that didn't have a bias of some kind? After all, Kathryn had been an intern- and Merlin knew that no one else would ever compare to the impact she'd had on him.
There had been two very, very long days, and Miles had finally gotten rid of his last inane student, and apparated home without so much as another word to anyone in his department. The house was quiet (perhaps oddly so, but he didn't notice that right away), and Miles quickly made his way to the kitchen to pour himself a glass of wine.
