“This is real?” May breathed, shock sweeping across her delicate features. As though to confirm Billy’s words, May turned around and touched a near by book case. It felt real, cool solid wood beneath her touch. She went further and even grabbed a book off the shelve. The book even smelled real, like dust and paper. “But…but how did we get here?” she whispered to herself, ignoring Billy’s words about being weaker souls being screwed but she heard Baby’s words. Was Billy making fun of her? May frowned, Maybe, she thought. Billy’s name was soon added to the list of people May wasn’t sure she liked. Baby seemed alright though, sorta reminded May of her former lover and co-worker Paula. She glanced at Baby’s clothes, nodding. “I like your jeans”, she added.
Then he came into the room. May’s nearly normal eyes travelled over the new comer who wore sunglasses and a leather jacket. “And who are you?” She asked politely, seeing no point in being rude even if this was a very weird situation. It bothered May but not too much. She was use to weird, she was weird.
“Would you like to come up stairs with us?” The young woman added, looking down at her hands in a shy manner when she noticed the blood still stuck beneath her fingernails. “Oh shoot”, she murmured as brought a finger to her mouth and sucked on the nail, trying to clean it.
