Won’t, he thought, no matter how much he would have liked to believe John that much, no matter how much reassuring the unexpected touch. Nevertheless, it didn’t take a genius to figure out that this was not the moment to argue. Instead he nodded, face still pressed into John’s shirt. After all, it wasn’t unlike Chas to try and believe in the impossible. He’d just have to try real hard this time.
He also figured he had to let go before he pushed the awkwardness to new levels, whether he wanted to or not.
Most reluctantly, he let go off John, suppressing a sigh as he did. Whether at the whole situation or his own reactions – either of them, really - looking anywhere but at the exorcist, well aware that he’d put John in a rather unlikely situation.
… good thing Chas wasn’t emotional or anything. Or looking completely lost. Hoping to spare both himself and John further emotional outbreaks, he took another deep breath and nodded. “…alright.” Now Chas just had to believe himself that.
