The demon was agreeing and that knowledge alone had Casper relaxing just a little, it wasn’t because he wanted to relax, it wasn’t because either himself or his wolf liked the idea of working for someone like the one before him, the very idea itself of working beneath another let alone for them had every vicious instinct inside of him alive and writhing. No, it was because the silver around his neck, around his wrist and beneath his very skin had consumed what strength he’d had left. The change itself was exhausting enough to the point that Casper usually slept the entire day afterwards to recover, now though, with silver humming through his system, pain radiating through every inch of his body it was all he could do to keep himself from falling unconscious. There was nothing he could do to stop that hand coming toward him, his limbs felt as though they were made of lead, too heavy for him to moved and he watched it come, he felt the strength behind it when it collided, his entire body collapsing to one side the barest hint of a wolf-like whine escaping him but aside from that he didn’t make a sound even as blood ran down the side of his face where those rings had ripped apart his skin like acid, the smell of burning flesh making his stomach churn which only caused him more pain. His entire body was trembling. “Three moons. Then I’m done.” He spoke back, words in Finnish and hardly above a weak whisper but he knew the other would hear him. His inner wolf hated him for saying it, hated him for giving in when he should have just kept fighting, he would have fought too, he would have endured all the silver in the world if it hadn’t meant that by fighting Taj’s life would be at stake. His wolf didn’t like it but he could accept it, though the beast may have gone about it in a different manner the result still would have been the same. He would die for his mate. He would work for heaven or hell if it meant keeping him safe. It was said that a werewolf’s biggest weakness was silver, Casper now knew that this wasn’t true.
