Well it was about fucking time, if she’d have made him wait any longer he might have actually started to think she had another nutcase in there and actually cared enough to help the fucker sort his shit out, nah, chances were she’d slipped out for another botox injection, it wouldn’t have surprised him in the slightest. In fact, he was practically half expecting it as he rose to his feet and crossed the waiting room to her office, he didn’t knock and he didn’t look up as he opened the door and walked inside the sickly familiar room. Slipping his messenger bag from his shoulder he dropped it to the floor at his feet and flopped down in his usual position on the leather couch, one leg bent up so that his foot came to rest on the knee of the other. As usual he didn’t say a word to her but the moment he finally looked away from the plastic plant in the corner he caught sight of something out the corner of his eye, a movement that didn’t belong, an almost slither of something around the good doctors neck. Hazel eyes turned to face her directly then, glued to that spot of empty space, there was nothing there, if she’d been wearing a scarf or a necklace of any kind he would have blamed the movement on that, she wasn’t though and Kaydence just couldn’t seem to shake the eerie feeling that slowly crept its way up along his spine. Slowly he forced his eyes away and up to her face, ready to just about forget the entire incident and pass it off as insanity until he saw her eyes.
They could have been contact lenses but deep down there was a nagging feeling that told him they weren’t after all, why would a shrink wear contacts so unnatural...so...what was that colour, it was almost violet but not quite, he wasn’t entirely sure there was a name for the colour of her eyes. There was evil there, malice and beauty all hidden within those violet hues, evil that might have previously been there but not to such a vicious extend, either way it didn’t matter, Kaydence could have sworn her eyes were brown.
It was her perfume that next came to the young man’s attention and it was a scent that had his already furrowing brow frowning even further. He’d never smelt anything like it, he was pretty sure the scents that reached his nose didn’t even exist, they were...impossible. Sweet, sickly sweet, luring and toxic. Deadly... Like a bomb going off inside of his head everything else seemed to follow in a perfect chain of events. The good ‘doctor’ was there in appearance but it wasn’t her at home. Pain. His brain suddenly felt too large for his own skull, the pulsating in his temples made him cringe, his eyes squeezing shut as his hand rose to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger, trying vainly to rid himself of the sudden flash of headache. It was the new meds he’d been given, at first he’d thought they’d been working, finally fixing whatever it was that was wrong with him, as always though, it was a lie, the truth always seemed to shine on through only now it came in flashes of pain but once it did finally reveal itself, it was there to stay. When he finally took a breath, opened his eyes and let his hand fall from his face those piercing hazel eyes found her.
