casperhowls: Casper stood there a little awkwardly by himself before he finally decided to do something normal for a change and sat down on the same seat he’d been sitting on before leaving the other open for Chess, his eyes first seeking out Taj whom he found standing back where he had been previously before he turned his attention back to the band on the stage, trying not to squint too much when the lights flashed across the stage affecting his vision just a little, his head cocked to the side as he listened. His ever wandering attention span didn’t stay on the band for long though because the moment Chess returned his eyes were back on the older male, grinning the moment he saw him. “No problem.” He replied, watching him pull the lighter out of his pocket before his hand was grabbed and he laughed softly. He should have been watching the band like everyone else especially being as close as they were and he almost felt guilty whenever his attention wandered knowing that there were hundreds of people out there in the audience that were familiar with them and would probably kill to be seeing them from the spot where he was. He just couldn’t seem to help it though, he’d never seen a live band before, never even been inside a place with so many other people and every single one of his senses was overloaded with everything that was going on around him and everyone that was inside the building. It was the only place he’d ever been where he could hardly decipher one person from another unless they were right in front of him, which was why both himself and his wolf failed to notice the young man directly above them.
He watched the way that Chess held his hand for a moment before his azure eyes wandered back to the other’s face as he started singing, the sound making him smile but even that didn’t last long, the movement of something red instantly caught his eye, his head darting in the direction, just in time to watch the wadded up strip of fabric hit the floor right in front of his left sneaker. Letting go of Chess’ hand he slipped out of his seat and crouched down on the floor with a frown, looking almost hesitant to pick up the piece of fabric unable to shake the feeling that there was something suspicious about it. That was until he recognized the lingering scent and realized what it actually was. Picking it up he let he neck tie unravel in his hands, eyebrow arched when he saw the marker on it, it was fresh, he could still smell the ink. Turning it over he could not help but laugh when he read what was written there, shaking his head a little. Sure it was funny but it still make Casper nervous and it made him feel like Taj wasn’t really playing fair because now he had no choice but to return the tie to him. Whether he was more nervous about the other calling it a date though or the fact that his wolf seems far too dormant and calm around Taj he wasn’t exactly sure.
Tying the necktie through one of the belt loops of his black jeans so that he wouldn’t lose it before having a chance to give it back to the other Casper looked back up at Chess and that was when he caught the slightest hint of movement near the ceiling. Unsure whether or not it was a trick of the light or something else entirely, his wolf’s curiosity had him looking up, sharp eyes narrowing in upon the figure hanging from the rafters. He knew that human eyes would see it but doubted they’d be able to make out what was actually up there, he knew though, Casper saw him as clear as day but what he was and what the man was doing up there he had not the faintest idea. The stranger was balancing far too well to be human and that alone had Casper on high alert as he slowly rose back to his feet and sat back down on the chair beside Chess, eyes darting to the older male before glancing back up to the ceiling. He was growling again, the sound soft and barely a rumble inside of his chest but he stopped it as soon as he was aware of it. If this thing wasn’t human than Casper didn’t know what it was and that to his wolf instincts meant that until he knew more about it, it was a threat and suddenly, as though out of absolutely nowhere, he felt the urge to protect the human sitting in the chair beside him.
