Taj clapped his hands together and yelped, "I'll take it" before casting him one more glance and still hopeful smile before turning around and jogging to back to his seat. He did look back over his shoulder once too before he was completely gone. Taj ended up back in that front row swaying back and forth with his "friends" - Taj didn't really have real friends. He had a blast with people, but none of them really knew him for him. The real him? How could they? No one knew what he was, much less who was deep on the inside. Casper honestly had a rare opportunity. By some whim of chance or fate he got to know Taj's true identity and that was something NO ONE knew but his own brothers. He had a foot in the door to a something to a person no one understood there was a secret door to knock at.
The next song had come on and that's when Chess finally showed back up smiling and waving at Casper as he sat down. The song was one of Chess's favorites from this band. "Sorry it took so long. There was an equipment malfunction. I had to pull some fast actin' guns to pull of this one. I would so die if Counting Crows were disappointed in the House. I think I might have saved their asses big time with one." He explained wiping his brow. It really wasn't a date, considering Chess was technically working. Even silly Chess wouldn't call taking bringing someone to work with him a real date. Hell, Chess hadn't even thought of Casper quite in that way completely until they were so close together. But, it was true he was starting to entertain thoughts. It was those thoughts that he wasn't sure where he was taking that caused him to suddenly get shy when it didn't seem his normal demeanor earlier. But, the distraction of work had him feeling right and comfy and back on his A game and was grinning as he grabbed up Casper's hand without much weirdness feel behind and flicked up his lighter in the other hand and led them back and forth swaying back and forth as he sang out the first lyrics, "Maybe this year will be better than the last! .... and the days go by so fast!" Chess was putting his soul into singing it too, again like the lyrics actually meant something to him having a little silly but still authentic fun with Casper.
What else was happening unknowingly to any of these people, not Chess, not Casper (at least not yet at that moment), not Taj, and not even anyone in the entire establishment was Atlas Acron snooping in the background, behind the stage. That damn mothman had illegally entered The House of Blues (again) and was hanging in the rafters way above them all sneaking a free viewing of the concert, being exactly where he didn't belong as usual. It would only be fate that Casper would see him before the night was through, for the guy was practically dangling above his head. The cathedral-esque ceilings were so high it was really no wonder he didn't get caught...........often.
Taj knew where Casper was at that point too even if he couldn't see him and he was getting his clever sphinxy mind going and wanted to secure that Casper would really try to meet him and he came up with a plan. He pulled his tie off yet again and pulled the sharpie marker from his back pocket he brought for autographs in case he would get so lucky and wrote on the back of it, If lost, return to owner Taj Bahar at ..." and had his address on it. Then he rolled it up like a little ball and slung it across the stage aiming it right for the spot Casper said he was in and it would have glided right across the floor and hit Casper right in his pink shoes.
